Other Attractions 

Other events in the city of Copenhagen during the same period include several other algorithm research events: the Symposium on Experimental Algorithms (SEA 2014) and the Scandinavian Symposium and Workshops on Algorithm Theory (SWAT 2014) take place the week before ICALP, and in the week after, University of Copenhagen hosts a summer school on hashing. Also notable is the annual Copenhagen Jazz Festival, from the weekend before ICALP up to and including the weekend after, with musical performances across the city.

In addition, founded in the 10th century, the capital of Denmark, major city of southern Scandinavia, and the center of a metropolitan area that reaches across the Øresund Bridge into southern Sweden, Copenhagen and its surroundings naturally offers a wide range of experiences.
